Partners Craig Burdick & Hanne Bølling met while working at Morphosis Architects in the early 1990s and soon after established Studio 1030 Architects in Santa Barbara, California. It is a diverse architectural firm dealing with Residential, Retail, Office and Commercial projects, Traveling Art Exhibits, Museum Work, Skilled Nursing Facilities, Retirement Communities, Prototype Fabrication for projects, Furniture Design and Fabrication, Models forTraveling Exhibits and other Design disciplines.

We are interested in all aspects of design from the inception to the rigorous detailing for construction. The process is very important, each project begins with a fresh approach and an investigation of design and ideas. Collaboration with our Clients and Artisans is integral with the process. Building Green has been part of our design approach from the beginning, starting with the Powell house 15 years ago to recently being part of the team that received a Santa Barbara County Built Green Award.
